Subtitles and audio language
During playback, the player’s language choice lists the audio tracks and subtitles the stream actually contains. The player can only offer what the source sends: a live channel often has a single audio track, while a film may carry several. When a track has no name, the source did not label it.
Changing language during playback
- Bring up the player controls.
- Open the language choice: it lists the audio tracks, then the subtitles.
- Pick the track you want. The change applies at once, without restarting playback.
A default language
On Android TV and Google TV, the player settings let you choose a default audio language and subtitle language: when a film offers them, they are selected straight away, without going back to the language choice each time.
Why a track is called “Track 2”
A language name is not guessed: it is written in the file or the stream. When the source has filled it in — including in a common form such as “VF” or “VOSTFR” — the player shows it in its own language: English, Français, Español.
When the source has not filled it in, no player can invent it. The app then shows a neutral label — “Track 1”, “Track 2”: the information is missing at the source, not in the player.
When there are no subtitles
- On live channels, most channels send no subtitles in the stream.
- On video on demand, it depends on the file: some carry several languages, others none.
- Subtitles that are out of sync or incomplete come from the file itself: the player shows what it receives, when it receives it.
Frequently asked questions
Only one language is offered
Then the stream only contains one. The player lists every track present; it cannot add any.
Is my choice kept from one film to the next?
On Android TV, yes, if you set it as the default language in the player settings. Otherwise the choice applies to the current playback.
Does RSKTV provide subtitles?
No. RSKTV is a player: it shows the tracks present in your streams, without providing or downloading any.
