Parental controls

Parental controls hide or lock the adult categories of your playlists behind a 4-digit PIN. On Samsung TVs, these categories are hidden from the moment the app is installed. On Android TV, Fire TV and Android, the lock is turned on in Settings › Parental Control, with the original code 0000, which you should change straight away.

What gets locked

The player recognises an adult category by its name, as your provider wrote it: “Adult”, “XXX”, “18+”, “Erotic” and their variants. It matches whole words, so that an ordinary channel is not locked by mistake.

A category that carries none of these markers is not recognised. If your playlist files this kind of content under a neutral name, hide the category by hand from the category settings.

On a Samsung TV

On Android TV, Fire TV and Android

  1. Open Settings › Parental Control.
  2. Turn on Lock adult categories: the PIN will be asked before playing a channel or film from these categories.
  3. Choose Change PIN. Enter the old code — 0000 originally — then your new 4-digit code.

Frequently asked questions

Is the code the same on all my devices?

With an RSKTV account, devices linked to the same session share the code and the setting: they carry over to every screen (on Android, since version 1.2.43). Without an account, each device keeps its own code, to be changed everywhere the app is installed.

Does parental control filter films by age rating?

No. It relies on your playlist’s categories, not on an age rating: most sources do not send that information to the player.

Does RSKTV provide adult content?

No. RSKTV is a player: it only shows what your own playlists contain, and parental controls exist to restrict access to it.
