Install RSKTV Player Pro on a Fire TV Stick

On Fire TV, RSKTV Player Pro installs directly today: the free Downloader app, the code 8864246, and you are done. Once it is published on the Amazon Appstore, a voice search will also do. Activation follows at first launch, with the device ID and code shown on screen.

RSKTV Player Pro is not yet published on the Amazon Appstore. In the meantime it installs directly, without a store: the steps are below. The link to the listing will be added as soon as it goes live.

What you need

A Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube or a TV with Fire TV built in.
An Amazon account signed in on the device.
Your own playlist: an M3U link or a media-server login.

Installing directly, without the store

Until the store listing is live, the app installs in a few minutes with Downloader, a free download app. Just one code to type, and it is always the latest version.

Install Downloader from the device’s store: the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV, the Play Store on Android TV.
Allow Downloader to install apps. On Fire TV: Settings › My Fire TV › Developer options › Install unknown apps. On Android TV: Settings › Apps › Security & restrictions › Unknown sources — the exact wording varies by model.
Open Downloader, type the code 8864246 and confirm: the download starts.
On the install screen, Cancel is preselected: move to Install before confirming.
Open RSKTV Player Pro: activation begins.

If the install gets stuck

“Developer options” does not appear (Fire TV): open My Fire TV › About and press the device name seven times, then go back.
The device refuses the file (“app not compatible”): start again with rsktv.com/downloads/android/maj64.apk, the 64-bit version.
The download does not start: check the address, with no spaces and no “www”. Some networks block downloads; another network, or a phone’s hotspot, settles it.

From the Appstore, once published

From the home screen, open search — the magnifier, top left.
Say or type RSKTV. The remote’s microphone spares you the on-screen keyboard.
Open the listing, then Get or Download.
Launch the app. Add it to your favourites so it sits at the top of the home screen.

Activation, once per device

On first launch the app shows your device ID and a code, then contacts the activation server.
The seven-day trial starts automatically, once per device, with no card required.
From a computer or phone, open the “My playlist” section of the site, enter the ID and the code, then save your playlist — M3U link or media server.
Back in front of the screen, the playlist is already there: nothing to type with the remote.

Updates and safety

Updates arrive on their own: the app checks for new versions and offers them on screen. No need to go back through Downloader.
Only get the app from these addresses: rsktv.com/rsktv-player.apk, or rsktv.com/downloads. A file found elsewhere may have been altered.
Once installed, you can take back Downloader’s permission to install apps: it is no longer needed.

Does installing give access to channels?

No. RSKTV Player Pro is a player: no channels, no films, no content subscription is provided, hosted, resold or suggested. You bring your own playlists and remain solely responsible for where they come from and whether they are lawful.

Do I have to pay before trying it?

No. The seven-day trial starts on its own at first launch, with no card required, once per device.

Can I use the same account on several devices?

The licence covers one device: a second screen needs a second licence. If you replace your device, however, support can transfer the licence to the new one — once per licence.
